For a few years now, Sarah Houle has ruminated about the

spaces in which we live. She has arrived at the conclusion:

we either seem become them or fight them. Houle attempts

to absorb and comprehend the world around her by first

gathering images of familiar spaces--photos, drawings,

appropriated Google jpgs--and then working those

representations into her vibrant, pseudo-surreal, eye

popping oil paintings.
