Stacie Johnson grew up in Iowa. During her undergraduate

years she studied Communications at the University of Iowa,

and it was during this time that she began to paint. Eventually,
she made her way to Chicago, obtaining her MFA in 2004

from The University of Illinois. She was the Assistant Director

at the West Loop gallery moniquemeloche and has taught

Drawing and Painting at Northern Illinois University at Dekalb.

Her most recent exhibitions have been at Butchershop/Dogmatic

and COMA. For the 2006-07 academic year, Johnson will
commute from Chicago to Normal, IL to teach at the State

University. She will paint away her long weekends at

The Splat Flats.
